What I really like about Google sites is the ability to embed the calenders and surveys from my Google docs. You should be able to embed them into any website. It takes me very little time to enter my homework assignments in their respective calenders and they are automatically updated in the calenders of assignments on my site. I embedded a survey I sent home and gave extra credit to students who had their parents fill it out online... and it saves you lots of work entering the data, as it appears in a nice spreadsheet.
